not abandoned after all

Henry and I were very happy to see the humans come back today. They were gone for such a long time, and Henry kept eating all our food and causing mayhem. He was getting on my last nerve! I was his only source of entertainment, and he bothered me day and night, day and night! Once in a while, people came in to leave food for us and to otherwise putter around the house, but I didn't go near them. I don't trust strangers. They are always up to no good in my book. I hear there are humans that eat cats, and how am I to know which are inclined to do so? It's been my experience that most humans are out to get me, so I just hide. It's safe and comfy in my undisclosed location.

I like Lisa the best and she came home and she was in the kitchen cooking, so I got to hang out and watch her. Then I got to hang out and watch her on the computer, and I sat in her lap for a while. She likes to pet me, and sometimes I enjoy that. She picked me up several times when they got home and she hugged me. I didn't really like that, but I made do. She tried to brush me too, but I drew the line there. None of that!

So things are back to normal and I am so glad. I hate change and disturbances. I like having the humans around. They feed me and keep me safe, and they give Henry two other sources of entertainment, which is a GOOD thing.

We are lonely.

the humans have been gone since sunday. they left early and we haven't seen them since. they took lots of bags with them. hallie and i wonder if they are coming back? do you think they will? some people calling themselves our grandparents stopped by and fed us and that was nice. they even petted me and played with me. i love them! maybe they will come back. hallie just hid the whole time. i don't know what the hell is wrong with her? she keeps telling me that the humans will be back, but i am not sure i should believe that cat. she's a shifty little spaz.

if you see our humans, tell them we miss them. or at least I miss them!

Notes from the Bunker

Henry started this thing with great gusto, and hasn't let me get a word in edgewise, but he's like that. It's always all about Henry in Henry's world. He likes to be in on everything. Every time I think I might get a little peace, here's this damn striped cat jumping on top of me or bouncing on me to lick my head. Sometimes that's nice, because it is ever so difficult to reach there to clean, but mostly he just likes to disturb the peace.

Speaking of disturbing the peace, a little while ago I was taking a nice nap in the living room, and it was so pleasant because it's so hot and there's nothing better than an afternoon nap (or three), but Chris was milling around and before I knew it, I heard it!

The dreaded vacuum! You know those things were created to suck up cats, don't you? Aaaaah. They are so loud and scary and I just can't stand it. I almost didn't have time to get away, but I managed to get past him and now I am safe in my undisclosed location. Whew! He might be tempted to get it out again, so I am just going to stay here for a long while. It's not as comfy here as it was in the living room, but I can't afford to take any chances! Let me know when it is safe to come out, will you?

hey!

lisa has been attached to the computer all day, but she got up from her chair, so i sat in it as quick as i could. SCORE! now i can log on and chat with my friends over the internets and say hi to you guys. i like this blogging stuff. it's fun. i like to listen to the itunez too. see- i can talk like an LOL cat. i AM a LOL cat!! today lisa has been home part of the day, and all that part pretty much she's been on the computer. she was gone early this morning, but came back and sat at the computer and i sat on her lap as soon as i could, but she pushed me off because she said i stank. i do not stink! i gave up after a while and had a snack. then she left for a while with her bike and when she came back, SHE stank, so i don't know what she's getting on my case for.

now it's getting on to high afternoon and it's time for a nap. hallie has been sleeping all day. that's all she ever does, except when she tries to chase me. she always wins because she is so slinky and fast. it is NO fair.

hiiiiii!

the other night lisa (one of our humans) was at the pub drinking with friends and somehow the topic of blogging came up. some of her friends think it's funny that she is so interested in blogging and the interwebs. we think it's funny too, but i like how she spends lots of time on the computer, because i can hang out in the office and sit on the carpet. i wish she'd pet me more, but when i try to insist and jump onto the computer chair, she usually pushes me off. usually we are not allowed in the office when one of the humans are not present, and i don't understand why. there are lots of fun things in there, plants to dig into and bite and knock over, papers to chew on, the little tiger lisa keeps on the computer desk.... i love that tiger. every time she's not looking, i get my paws on him and if i am lucky i'll get to drag him off into the hall before she notices. she usually catches me, though, and i get yelled at and she takes the tiger and puts it back and kicks me out of the office and shuts the door. bummer, man.

anyway, someone suggested that i get a blog, but of course she had to include hallie too. i don't know why she loves that cat more than me, because she's scared of everything and is always running away from everything, from me, from the humans, from her own shadow. she's broken. but lisa loves her anyway, so i gotta share this blog with hallie. i managed to get the keyboard before her though. FIRST! yeah!

so this is our blog. i don't know how much we'll update it, because we are cats and we have a reputation for laziness that we have to live up to. we'll have to put lots of pictures on here though, because lisa the photographer takes more photos of us than anything. she should start a cat photography business. she and chris are always asking me and hallie when we are going to get jobs, maybe i could be her manager. eh, nah- i think i'll take a nap instead.
